G. WILLIAM THOMASON was born in Greenwood, South Carolina, on May 2, 1942.
He attended the University of South Carolina (B.S., 1964; J.D., 1971) where he was a member
of Phi Delta Phi. Mr. Thomason was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1971.
Mr. Thomason held the title of South Carolina Assistant Attorney General from 1971-1973.
In 1972, he was admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina, and in
1974 he was admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals, 4th Circuit. Mr. Thomason was
a Governor Appointee for the South Carolina Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental
Relations from 1986-1987 and has served as Ware Shoals Town Attorney from 1981 - 2008.
He is a member of the following: Greenwood County and American Bar Associations;
South Carolina Bar (Previous Member, Board of Governors and House of Delegates); S.C. Bar
Workers’ Compensation Section (Previous Chairman and Board Member); South Carolina
Workers’ Compensation Educational Association; Association of South Carolina Claimant
Attorneys for Workers’ Compensation Fellow, South Carolina Bar Foundation
(Vice President, Board Member). [Captain, USNR, Retired, 1964-1995]
